Rehearsals

Rehearsals, for me, were the hardest part of the play. Every time we had our play practices, I am tasked to help our director to facilitate our actresses and production crew. Our director was having a major role on our play so she cannot concentrate on her responsibilities. As her assistant, I am in-charge of whatever the thing she cannot cope up with. So all the dilemmas of our actresses and production crew are consulted to me. At first, I wasn't really sure if I can do these things; be a leader, consultant, and a coach. In our class, I am the not-so-serious-one type of person. I go for stupidity and when it comes to exams, "Survival" is the word for me. I didn't expect these kinds of responsibilities relied on a clumsy Justine. But I surprised myself, I felt conscientious not only to myself anymore but now, to my whole class. I felt like being liable of what will be the class' outcome on our play fest.

Being in-charged facilitator of year two Saint Anne is hard. You have to scream your throat out so that everyone will listen to you. I remember one time I almost passed out after a tiring rehearsal.

But all of these are worthy if you'll see the outcome of your sacrifices. It feels great to work hard for something and you'll be given an award for doing so.

Auditions

As the assistant director, I helped facilitating the auditions. Our CAE Auditions started off with Shakuntala, our lead role. Many auditioned for the role. Random people from our class surprised me with their 'hidden' talents. As a matter of fact, I never knew that many in our class can act very well.

So, the auditions went on until the last minor character. After the auditions,I can say our section is filled with great actresses that I am confused who is the best among all of them.

Our deliberation was a little bit tardy. We weren't able to deliberate due to the family day. So we just decided to do it on Facebook. We formed a group for a conference on chat and did the deliberation of each character. The deliberation went smoothly. It took us a long time to decide who were the ones to act on each role. Everyone was giving their own opinions and perspectives on who should be chosen on particular characters. The brainstorming went on for two hours.

PREPARATIONS. [Late Blog Update for Play Fest]

PREPARATIONS:

For me,the preparations for our Play Fest '10 started off with the workshop I attended to. I have attended the BITAW classes facilitated by Ms. Joanne Paulette Liboon before our third quarter began. Me and some of my schoolmates were able to learn new things regarding Theater. Our facilitator was so passionate on this field that she became a director of her own play and was able to bring us to her production, the "Cafe Shakespeare".

Our play was stormed by the incredible brain of our Biology facilitator, Mrs. Rhodora Clement. She suggested the Indian story of "Shakuntala" which is one of the works of Kalidasa.

Furthermore, luckily, I got a slot on the Teatro Club facilitated by our own CAE moderator, Mr. Jomel Guintivano. We had activities that has enhanced and broaden our minds in the Theater world. We did radio plays, some other stuffs.

As part of the preparations, Sir Guintivano made us choose our Production Crew. After a long decision, I ended up as the Assistant Director. It was unexpected for me. I only had a minor role for our play when I was a freshman. This unexpected decision was made possible by the BITAW class experience requirement that only me and my other two classmates have.

WE FITTED IN ONE CAR-Patrol. I love my friends!!!

I miss Stiletto Club ; this is a picture of our play for CAE last year. We won!

Play Update4; VICTORY!

Play fest 2010 was a success not only to the winners but of course to everyone.

As for our section, year two St. Anne, we won for both plays!- CAE and CAF. Our teamwork, sacrifices, sweat and time were all paid off by our victory. Our section was pressured for we know that last year's batch for St. Anne also won grand slam. So, the tension was all on us. Actually, these things were all unexpected. We were like " oh it's so gonna be the Elizabeth or the Catherine" during the awarding. "BUT" it was proven wrong by the word "BUT" because Miss Sardua was like "If you won the best directors award (which we got), it doesn't mean that you'll win the best play award.. BUT for the year two." And we were like "Oh my, we did it." :O

Anyway, congratulations to everybody!

'til my next post

Family Day '10

We started our activity with a parade under the heat of the sun, wearing our costumes ( for UN day). After a stroll around General Luna, we had different presentations of dances which on my part was the Chinese Fan dance. Others performed belly dancing, Japanese , itik-itik and flamingo dance. The dances from different cultures were followed by the 'Unity' dance which was performed by everyone. After the program, we were able to freshen up ourselves from much heat we experienced that caused us to sweat bullets. Then, we ate and played bingo. Me and my friends also had fun riding Ferris wheels.

After this long day, I realized that differences among us should never be hindrance to have WORLD PEACE rather be a stepping stone to give us, the families around the world a tighter bond.

PLAY UPDATE 2 ; CAE Auditions

As one of the directors, I helped facilitating the auditions. Our CAE Auditioins started off with Shakuntala, our lead role. Many auditioned for the role and after that, I can say our section is filled with great actresses that I am confused who is the best among all of them.

St. Anne was able to reach the goal to fill in all the major roles on time. We were able to do the first part of our play fest well and smoothly. And I hope, it'll continue through out our preparation for the play fest '10 and beyond.

Cafe Shakespeare

The Cafe Shakespeare was directed by our teacher, Miss Joan Paulette Libo-on, so i was able to watch the show at the University of San Agustin with my co-learners in Theater Class. It started with a giving out free coffees around 6pm and ended with an open forum around 9pm.

Me and my schoolmates were stunned how the actors and actresses performed so well. As beginners in the 'industry' of theater, we were in awe with their skills in acting. We were like "Did she really cry with tears?!" Hah.

The said show was written by our teacher herself. She was able to relate Shakespeare to a coffee. In the story, each person has her/his brew of coffee; Mochaccino, Frappe, etc. And each time she/he drinks a coffee from a Coffee Shop called "Cafe Shakespeare", the person starts to blurt out Shakespearean words from nowhere. The story emphasizes a family having a 'secret' ingredient to their coffee that brings out the inner Shakespearean of a person.

OVERALL-It was outstanding!!!

Gluttony

WELCOME OCTOBER!!!
October wish: A LOT!

Lyrics of "I Will Be Here"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUQ0-9ASwP4

I'm in the mood of singing this. Haha

Tomorrow morning if you wake up
and the sun does not appear
I will be here
If in the dark, we lose sight of love
Hold my hand, and have no fear
'Cause I will be here

I will be here
When you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen
And I will be here
When the laughter turns to cryin'
Through the winning, losing and trying
We'll be together
I will be here

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the future is unclear
I will be here
Just as sure as seasons were made for change
Our lifetimes were made for these years
So I will be here

I will be here
And you can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells us we're older
I will hold you
And I will be here
To watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here

I will be true to the promise I have made
To you and to the One who gave you to me

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the sun does not appear
I will be here
Oh, I will be here.

Bible Camp '10

The Bible Camp is a yearly event where more than 20 schools are participating.
For this year, Assumption Iloilo decided to join te 13th Bible Camp at the Holy Rosary Academy Molo after having an 8-year vacation from it since 2002. And I,also, went with the other 25 delegates from Assumption. For this year's bible camp, their theme was "Stewardship: Our response to God's call". As first timers, me and my school mates weren't used to their camp activities namely bonfire, exodus walk, shibashi, long parades and a lot more but still we enjoyed experiencing these new things.
I, myself had a memorable experience from this camp. As we were having our friendship hour(done through going around a field filled with random people from different schools meeting and greeting each other), someone I don't have an idea who he really was and what was his purpose, punched me so hard that my schoolmate got shocked I fell from our line. It strucked me that I went at a corner and stayed there for the rest of the night doing nothing but talk to some Atenean friends. My campmates, for sure, also have their memorable experience from this camp since it's our first time as I said.
As a whole, there are bunch of things that I have learned from this camp. Realizations such as even though how kind or nice you are, you cannot please everyone because every person has her own perspective in life and we should respect it even though it conflicts with us. And another thing I learned from this camp, no matter how different we are, no matter how much we conflict or contrast each other, God wants all of us to give effort to understand and try to spread His undying love to everyone! AMEN. 0:)

Taste of Death

Early this morning, my teacher discussed about how heaven was like. He told us heaven was peaceful, great and very harmonious. I was stunned imagining it that I blurted out the words "I'm excited to go to heaven!"

After dismissing us, me and my friends went to our "tambayan" every afternoon. We chitchatted there for a while. Then, I saw my car and in a hurry because I was too excited to go home for I was so exhausted today, I ran. I stopped when my classmates called my attention to say good bye but suddenly, they began screaming and I wondered why. When I turned my back, I was too shock to find a car inches away from me that if I was too blind or stupid not to look back that time, I. With wide eyes I turned back to my classmates and almost vomit because of that "life and death" feeling.

I thank God so much because He gave me another chance. From now on, I'll cherish every moment and the present. I won't let myself be bothered by future. I'll have faith in my every footstep in reaching my goals.

Me and my co-Assumptionists joined Assumption-Iloilo's Centennial Celbration

Himaya Band

[LATE POSTAGE]
At first, I thought Himaya Band was another ordinary Christian Band but when we were all seated and were blasted by a very energetic performance on our seats, my mouth fell open and asked "This is a Christian Band,Right?".

We were all in awe in their first performance and were stunned in their next performances. The band members are all talented. They have the QUALITYof a great band.

As far as I know, the band was able to perform for many different schools-ISA, Hua Shong, West Bridge, Saint Paul's and Assumption. And I know, everyone enjoyed and are looking for their next performances.

AC Bazaar

At first, I thought AC Bazaar was just exclusive for assumption learners. I was stunned when I and my friends decided to visit the event and found lots of people in the hall. In visiting AC Bazaar last August 6-7, 2010, I didn’t expect the things that were in there to be in there. I thought the people will sell Assumption Stuff and collectibles only for it was called “AC Bazaar” but I was wrong. There were different varieties of business in the Hall.

Upon entering the PNB Hall, the sellers would approach and persuade you to buy their products. Their stalls were arranged randomly from one side to the other in the hall. Even though the hall wasn’t filled with the stalls, the noise couldn’t tell how few the stalls were in there for there were bunch of people in there. There were also singers and entertainers that filled the hall with much energy. The bazaar was made up of different business assortments. Some sold food, sofa, clothes, accessories and many more. But the one that stood out the most was the “Bob” Shoes which were sold by Assumption Alumnae. They were one of the entrepreneurs in the event. Their dazzling shoes persuaded many Assumption learners to buy their product. Their stall was filled with different colored shoes with its distinct designs which cost from P650-750. But I don’t believe that the profit varies because everyone that was in there sacrificed their time, money, and efforts to support the Assumption Centennial Celebration. May these sacrifices last for the next hundreds of years.

I believe, we too, regular Assumption learners have a great part in this celebration. We are going to be the next recipients of Assumption education and blessings. We are about to achieve our dreams for the future of our land that can help the progression of the world. This is because in Assumption, there are no such things as BORDERS.

Cherishing Every Moment :)

My cousin Lyle and I have been apart for million years. And now, we're given the chance to be with together, we cherish every second of her 10 months stay here in the Philippines 'cos she'll be leaving again after for California.

Every weekend, she would go to our house and do some crazy stuffs. We listen to songs in her iPod, watch movies, eat, eat and eat! We do malling too, buy some thingies even though she doesn't like it because she prefer Abercrombie when it comes to clothing and watch movies in theaters. Actually, we already watched three movies in her first month here and we're still counting!!! Last weekend we went to our niece who is extremely cute(not mentioning her blushing bouncing soft cheeks!). We also swim a lot, no wonder how dark my skin is today. *LOL*

Anyways, whatever happens, It'll stay with the Greatest Memories List of my life. :)

"Lindsay's Hello before her Farewell"

"PARENT TRAP"

Who can forget about Lindsay Lohan's multi-acting career for her role as the twin? She was as adorable as a sunflower in the movie "Parent Trap" where she played both twin which are Hallie and Annie. Her young pretty face made the movie hit the showbiz world BIG TIME. Last Sunday, the said movie was premiered on the famous Disney Channel. It was much-awaited by many people(I'm one of them).

"LINDSAY'S TRAP"

The Parent Trap's once shining star is on her way to the jail. Lindsay was "trapped" in Los Angeles Courtroom with all the embarrassment due to the paparazzi. The Rebellious Star was sentenced on July 6 for missing alcohol counseling sessions in violation of her probation. From big time, Lindsay goes SMALL TIME. All I can say to people like Lohan is "DON'T GET TOO DRUNK,YOU MIGHT TRIP". >:)

Paul Got it Rright :)

The 2010 FIFA World Cup has been in the mouth of many these past days. Everyone has their bet on it. Honduras, Chile, Switzerland, Germany, SPAIN, etc. I'm not really a fan of football but since my sister, dad and my friends are, I feel obligated to do so. I don't wanna be left out with the talking. Haha

So, here's this "octopus" named Paul. He would predict who'll win the World Cup . For this, Paul got it right, again. :)

Spain won the worldcup. "Viva Espana!!" as the people would say. I'm glad that we have another succesful global event that brought people from all over the world together. Congratulations Spain! =)

Eclipse

Me and my friends; Issa, Poy, Angela and Macee were able to watch the much-awaited Twilight Saga's Third Chapter Movie Eclipse.

It was the best out of the three movies so far. Edward and Jacob was so gorgeous that my popcorn fell on the floor. We were like the nosiest people in the theater. Every time Jacob or Edward would appear on the screen, we freeze like ice but they were so hot that we were melting at the same time. I know, weird. Eclipse is the only existing thing that can do that. :)

Isabella Swan was the envy of gazillion fans yesterday. The scenes were well-made. Every thing was great! June Thirty was AH-mazing. You'll never regret watching it. And now, I need to wait for the next chapter-Breaking Dawn which as some people say will have two movies. First movie will be premiered on 11-11-11. Cool, right? It's another big thing.

- That the mosquitoes can cross rain without getting hit by a single raindrop?;)

Enriching Afternoon

It's a boring but enriching afternoon for me this Saturday. My parents are both busy with something. While my sister is out to attend a friend's debut. This is how my past two hours went..I was on our couch, eating Ice Cream, Cookies and Cream to be specific, while watching "Cheaper by The Dozen 2". I watched it for many times but I keep on watching it still. I find the movie upsetting but at the same time comprehending especially to those rebel teenagers, spoiled daughters, emotional guys who would slash his life away for his girlfriend and to all those children of their parents. The movie simply showed however or whatever our parents does or say to us, they did it just because of their tender loving care for us, their children. So, don't misunderstand them and just be thankful that you have them. :)

Blue :)

Tired, so down, staring outside the window with nothing in my mind. I'm fresh from a very exhausting day. OH! I said. How beautiful this view I have in my sight. It's wavy, blue and soothing. It's the ocean... God is indeed wonderful. I say this in my mind. He is unbelievably amazing. How true can this be? A perfect view for me. After a wild day, God has given me a pillow to lie on. To feel comfort and care. Thank you God. :)

"SONGS"

In music, a song is a composition that contains vocal parts that are performed ("sung"), commonly accompanied by musical instruments, exception in the case of a capella songs. The lyrics of songs are typically of a poetic, rhyming nature, although they may be religious verses.

Currently, many people are enjoying this gift of God. Some benefit because they have the capability to make their field in music industry good. Just like some artists; Justin Bieber, Charice Pempengco and many more. Aren't they so blessed? Too bad I don't have voice like they do.

There are different kinds of songs. There is pop, RnB , Classics, etc. And we people have different interests when it comes to it. Some prefer RnB, some don't. It's just a matter of choice. But still it's called a song no matter what.

People say songs are the best companions when you're in your dark days of your life. It inspires, motivates and sometimes makes people sad. But what is it in songs that make our feelings change in one beat of it? Questions and confusions come in to our minds but the main point is that we should be just thankful to God that he has given us the gift of music.

JAKE-A-HOLIC

"WHAT A MARSHMALLOW!" the line I would always remember whenever I see Twilight Saga`s Jacob Black. HADASDot, isn`t he? Haha I`ve been reading Twilight Saga over and over again. I adore how Stephenie Meyer came up with Jacob`s lines. His attitude. Everything that he is… I like it! :)

Farewell My Summer.

SUMMER 2010 ended. I did my routines; Bora-Manila,Sleep,Internet and EAT! Pathetic, I Know Right?!

But you know what made it fantastic? The people I met.. :) Friends are one of the best parts of our lives. They made my day especially when they want to check up on me. I love the ironic fact that even there simple “Hi’s and Hello’s” make my day. I wonder how would the world survive without a friend.

And now, month of June where most of classes start.. I say "Hello School! Better be nice to me this time". Good-bye Summer! And to those people who made my summer as pleasant as my other summers were.

- Thank You! :)
